Zhaocan Li has a wide range of in-depth experience in writing, photography, public speaking, debating, managing communication activities for governments, radio, and news anchoring. His achievements in public speaking and debating are reflected by numerous awards he had won, including the FLTRP Cup, the most prestigious public speaking and debating competition in China.
Previously, Zhaocan served as a public speaking instructor at Hainan University College of Foreign Languages. There, he was responsible for four students participating in the FLTRP Cup competition. His duty as an instructor consisted of revising speeches, offering experience, building each student’s own voice, and identifying problems.
Earlier, Zhaocan produced and hosted his own radio program called Late September at Hainan University Radio Station. He designed each and every segment of the program consisting of news recap, weekly highlights on campus, Q & A section, commentary, and occasional interviews. During his time at Hainan University, Zhaocan also interned at Haikou Broadcast & TV Station where he anchored four news programs.
Prior to studying at Boston University, Zhaocan interned at Haikou Municipal Government where he served as an editor, assistant to director and event coordinator. He was responsible for seamless communication maintaining the sister city relationship between Haikou and other municipal governments around the world.
Zhaocan received a bachelor’s degree in tourism management from Hainan University with the honor of “Excellent Student Exemplar” of the class of 2015. Now he works at the Boston University COM Writing Center as a writing tutor.
